WCG has commissioning experience on nearly 400 separate facilities for more than 175 different clients.  The following sampling has been provided as a demonstration of our commissioning capability in a wide variety of facility types.  Listed projects may be either in progress or complete.

Cobb Building - Seattle, WA

Project Description: This is a century old 11 story building occupying 75,300 square feet, and is on the historical register. The façade of the building is of historical significance allowing minimal or no penetrations for new services. It will have upscale residential rental units on floors 2 through 11 and retail spaces on the first floor and basement. The building was completely gutted except for the bank on the first floor. Project goal is LEED Silver certification. (2 phase project)
WCG Scope: Commissioning of all new mechanical and electrical systems for the new residential units and retail space. This included a hydronic pump loop system with heat pumps in each residential unit for cooling and heating. The HVAC system for the bank was kept operational during the project. Other commissioned systems include upgraded fire water service, individual metering for each unit for electrical and utilities, heating and cooling recovery from nearby buildings, and Johnson Controls control system.

Salt Palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City, UT

Project Description: A 145,000 square foot exhibit hall and another 72,500 square feet of meeting space. The Salt Palace Convention Center will have accumulated 515,000 square feet of exhibition hall and 164,000 square feet of meeting rooms and ballroom space with completion of this latest expansion.
Also includes a two-level underground parking garage. The project goal is LEED Certification.
WCG Scope: HVAC systems and controls, Irrigation, plumbing fixtures and plumbing infrastructure, Lighting (interior and exterior) and energy-generating equipment and controls, Building envelope materials and integrity, and Daylighting systems.

Sand Point Way Facility - Children's Hospital, Seattle, WA

Project Description: Commissioning of 100,000 square foot facility including administrative offices and data center.
WCG Scope: Full commissioning of mechanical systems including controlled environment rooms, heating/chilled water system, lighting controls, hydronic piping, air, and environmental control systems, air handling equipment, and generator systems and DDC Control System. Also responsible for coordination of equipment start-up.

Large Office/Manufacturing Facility – Pacificorp ,Corvallis, OR

Project Description: Retro-commissioning of existing HVAC system to determine energy conservation measures on large, 160,000 square foot office and manufacturing facility on the Corvallis campus of a high-tech manufacturing firm.
WCG Scope: HVAC commissioning on large air handlers, VAVs with hydronic reheat, chilled water system, heating water system, Liebert air conditioning units and a hybrid DDC, electronic, and pneumatic control system. Detailed energy conservation measure report was issued to client at project close-out. Eighty issues were identified; 17 issues determined to have a “high energy impact” were used to calculate savings. Eight energy conservation measures were recommended; resulting savings totaled 1,069,524 kWh (8-month payback of commissioning costs).

Federal Reserve Bank - Pacificorp, Portland, OR

Project Description: Retro-commissioning of existing HVAC system to determine energy conservation measures on 90,000 square foot, six story office building. The retro-commissioning of the bank’s building systems was focused on equipment operations and energy efficiency.
WCG Scope: Retro-commissioning of the HVAC system included testing of the building’s 6 main air-handlers and return fans for economizer operation, heating and cooling modes, and general conditions and scheduling. Floor level terminal units were tested for heating valve leakage and proper operation was evaluated. The building’s chilled water and heating water systems were tested for proper operation, scheduling and set points. Individual air conditioning units were evaluated for proper operation and general conditions. Systems testing produced six low cost energy savings issues and recommendations. Estimated energy savings from these six issues totaled 35,098 kWh / 3,865 Therms annually.

Merrill Creek Administration Building, Everett, WA

Project Description: Retro-commissioning, 20,000 square foot office building.
WCG Scope: HVAC and controls retro-commissioning for central packaged rooftop air handler with economizer, direct expansion cooling, series VAV boxes with electric heating coils, Alerton DDC controls.
